We tend to see what we want to see. Often, a situation may have changed, but our perspective remains static, preventing us from recognizing that change. This illustrates the influence of the ego-mind, which can obscure our understanding.
Those tired and broken voices...
‘You failed’
‘You will never change’
‘You will always be this way’
‘You cannot have this’
It is relentless, the false self, until we recognize we create our perspectives. We might think those with ‘more’ have happiness. Or those with ‘less’ have loneliness. These are silly games the ego-mind plays.
What does this all mean to a horse? Absolutely nothing.
They see us without our titles……rich, poor, trainer, student, successful, unemployed, etc, etc. They see us in the moment as vibrating two-legged creatures who smell different, and either a friend or someone to proceed with caution.
Due to my endless curiosity, I approach horses to what I can offer them. Thanks to working with autistic children, I discovered the richness of sound with horses. I have been offering sound therapy and sound meditations FOR horses.
Hunter, a 25 year old gelding, is very receptive. He is a maestro of sound. Through observation, I have learned what he likes and dislikes. Yes, he dislikes some sounds and types of music. Why won’t he? Horses have a much greater sensitivity to sound than humans. While humans can typically hear sounds in the frequency range of about 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz (20 kHz), horses have a broader range, which can extend from approximately 14 Hz to 25,000 Hz (25 kHz). This enhanced hearing capability allows horses to detect higher-frequency sounds that are inaudible to humans, contributing to their acute awareness of their environment.
I have learned Hunter prefers short melodies with interludes of silence. I will watch him go into a deep meditation while he listens to the sounds. I often play crystal singing bowls for Hunter and the herd.
I personally feel Hunter views me as his enrichment coordinator. I work with him at all levels — physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. The sounds and vibrations work at all four levels. I approach all my work with these two principles:
All life is vibrational.
All healing begins with vibration.
Horses are sensitive and feel vibrations in their environment. That can be anything — thunder, a leaf blower, a call from another horse, a whistle, or a footstep. When they feel good with the sounds and vibrations in their environment, they reciprocate.
As I look down at the singing bowls, Hunter stands over me and shares his joy. He gently nudges my ear with his soft muzzle and gives a soothing massage to the back of my neck, where I often hold tension.
When you embrace new possibilities, life responds in unexpected ways. Life is a reciprocal exchange, where we connect and meet the people we need at precisely the right moments.
Hunter and I crossed paths during a period of dissonance in our lives. Through curiosity and acceptance, we discovered more about one another and learned to resonate together, even WITHOUT the aid of crystal singing bowls.
Remember, you are a gift just as you are.

Camron Adibi is an Equine Therapist and a PATH Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor, holding a master's degree in education from Gordon College. He specializes in guiding children to reconnect with themselves and others through meaningful, nonverbal interactions with horses. By tapping into the emotional intelligence of horses, children cultivate emotional resilience and boost their confidence. They learn to regulate their emotions, trust their instincts, and more comfortably express their true selves. In a calm and supportive environment, children gain a deeper understanding of themselves, develop healthier relationships, and navigate a world that can often feel overwhelming. This work focuses not on riding but on building connection. Through gentle and grounded experiences, children discover their voice, build trust, and step into their full potential. www.camronadibi.com
Hello
This is an incredible post that resonates completely with Me.
I have recently learned about brain research of how our brains are hardwired--which of course is a God thing---a small percentage of the population is considered by this researcher to be
the "Conceptor Explorer" who possess a remarkably balanced sense of logic and intuition, and are therefore operating at a whole brained level... endlessly curious, inspired, open minded, flexible, troubleshooters. networkers. see underlying patterns everywhere, visionaries, etc
The author states this is the most rare 'hardwired brain type'...there is no doubt in my mind that this came to Me ( humbly) through my dear Father Glen and his favorite Aunt Gertrude, both who epitomized all of the above in their lives. From DNA ( Nature) and modeling ( Nurture) The more we can be "Enrichment coordinators" ( I LOVE that!) for our horses and all life, the more we live our purpose and calling!
The only thing I would modify in your post is "To Him" as in anything you offer "to" and would replace with "With"
Early in my Basic PSYCH-K education, it was emphasized that doing anything "to" any living thing
can feel dominating, etc so when we come from a spirit of 'with', it becomes mutual, with permission and consent, etc
It took Me a bit to get this into my vocabulary and mindset, and showed me how often with good intentions, I was doing things 'to' others...
Always learning, my "Conceptor Explorer" friend, aren't WE?!
